Twenty-Three Clemson Student-Athletes Receive Degrees

CLEMSON, SC – Twenty-three Clemson student-athletes, including eight members of the 2012 football team, graduated from the school on Thursday.  All 11 Clemson scholarship football players on this year’s team have now earned their undergraduate degrees.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am to have a 100 percent graduation rate from this class,” said Head Coach Dabo Swinney.  “This is what it is all about.”  Swinney recognized the group of graduates after practice on Wednesday.  They were excused from practice on Thursday so they could spend the day with their families and attend all graduation activities.

The current Clemson football players who graduated on Thursday at the ceremony at Littlejohn Coliseum were Spencer Benton (Sociology), Jaron Brown (Marketing), Andre Ellington (PRTM), Dalton Freeman (Sociology), Malliciah Goodman (Sociology), Jonathan Meeks (Sociology), Jonathan Willard (Sociology) and Corico Wright (Sociology).  It was actually the second degree for Brown and Freeman.

Earlier, Brandon Ford, Xavier Brewer and Rashard Hall had already earned their degrees.  Former Clemson All-ACC wide receiver Airese Currie (Marketing), who last played at Clemson in 2004, also earned his degree on Thursday.

Other student-athletes who graduated on Thursday were David Haselden (Baseball, Mechanical Engineering),  Jacob Burger (Golf, Marketing), Michael Muscatell (Golf, Management), Austin Savage (Men’s Soccer, PRTM), Chris Dart (Men’s Swimming, Communications), Myles Oliver (Men’s Swimming, Management), Spencer Adams (Men’s Track & Field, Sociology), Rebekah Clogston (Rowing, Food Science), Heather Cummings (Rowing, Health Science), Deanna Piper (Women’s Swimming, Nursing), Garrison Stevens (Women’s Swimming, Civil Engineering), Monique Gracia (Women’s Track & Field, Sociology), Sonni Austin (Women’s Track & Field, Sociology) and Karine Farias (Women’s Track & Field, Marketing).
