Travis Furbee Named Clemson Ticket Manager

Sept. 12, 2006

CLEMSON, SC – Travis Furbee has been named the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Operations for the Clemson University Athletic Department. Furbee brings nearly eight years of ticket office experience to the position, most recently as the Athletic Ticket Manager at Georgia Tech University in Atlanta, GA.

Furbee replaces Bobby Skelton, who resigned last month to become the Director of Secondary Athletics for Pickens County.

At Clemson, Furbee will be responsible for the management of all phases of ticket operations, including the assignment, sales, distribution and accounting of tickets for athletics and post-season events. His duties will also include the overall operation of the automated ticketing system and overseeing ticket office employees and staff members.

Furbee joined the Georgia Tech office in March of 2003 as the Assistant Director of Ticket Operations. As such, he supervised day-to-day operations, trained full- and part-time staff and administered Paciolan’s online ticketing system. Furbee was promoted to Athletic Ticket Manager in July of 2004. While serving in this position, he introduced and operated a digital ticketing system for students for men’s basketball games and implemented an online system for players’ guests. The Georgia Tech Athletic Association’s ticket office also saw increased online renewals for men’s basketball and football during Furbee’s term.

Prior to his tenure at Georgia Tech, Furbee served as an assistant in the Florida State Athletic Ticket Office in Tallahassee, FL. In that position, he maintained Internet sales and was responsible for game day operations for all sporting events, including will call, sales and customer service.

Furbee is a graduate of West Virginia University. He and his wife Heather have two children, Taylor (3) and Maci (1).
