Friday, April 17, 3:30 – 7:30 p.m.Saturday, April 18, 4-8 p.m.

Clemson will have multiple entries across various events on Thursday. Linda Buchholz and Bethanie Wachna will compete in the javelin throw at 11:30 AM. Both are former All-ACC performers in the event. Scott Pauga, an East Region qualifier in the men’s javelin, is scheduled for a 5:00 competition.

Nikola Lomnicka, a freshman sensation from Slovakia, is the lone entry in the women’s hammer throw at 5:00.

Thursday’s action will conclude with the 10K for both women (8:00) and men (8:45). Jenna Baker and Kim Ruck lead the women’s entries. Baker was All-ACC and All-Region in the fall as a member of the cross country team. Chad Holt and Shane Reighard will run the men’s 10K for Clemson.

Friday’s action will be headlined by the men’s sprint group. C.J. Spiller will be among the favorites in both the 100m and 200m dash events. The prelims are scheduled for 5:00 for the 100m dash, and 6:30 for the 200m. Trenton Guy and Justin Murdock are also scheduled to compete in both. Clemson is looking to produce its fourth straight individual champion in the 100m dash, as former Tiger great Travis Padgett won the event each of his three seasons (2006-08) with the program.

Miller Moss and Travis Swaggard also figure to be in the mix of their respective events Friday and Saturday. Moss, who will not compete in the decathlon, is slated for the open 400m dash at 4:30. Swaggard, who has qualified for the 2009 East Region Championships, will run the prelims of the 400m hurdles at 6:00.

Field event standouts in action Friday include Anastasia Wilson (high jump – 4:00), Padgett (shot put – 4:00), and George Fields (long jump – 5:00). Fields is a two-time all-conference performer in the outdoor long jump, while Wilson is coming off a third-place finish at the ACC indoor meet in the high jump.

Saturday will feature the finals of the majority of the track events. The men’s 100m dash final is scheduled for 5:30, with the 200m final at 6:30. Clemson will enter a team in both the men’s 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay as well. Guy, Ford, Spiller, and Murdock will compose the 400m relay (4:10). Moss, Swaggard, Murdock, and Will Noble are the projected entries in the 1600m relay (7:50). Clemson has won both events recently, the 400m relay last season and the 1600m relay in 2007.

Several field events will be held Saturday, including the pole vault, triple jump, and discus throw. Caroline Kennedy leads a group of four in the women’s competition (1:00), while Chris Spear will be making his outdoor debut for the men’s team in the vault (4:00). Padgett and Stephen White are scheduled for the discus at 4:00, while Josh Fowler will compete in the men’s triple jump at the same time.
