Top Singles Players Meet Saturday At The Hoke Sloan Tennis Center

CLEMSON, SC – The nation’s top women’s tennis singles players will square off on Saturday when #13 Clemson hosts the ninth-ranked Miami Hurricanes. The doubles matches will begin at 10:30 am with singles competition to follow. The Tigers’ Julie Coin, ranked #2, and the Hurricanes’ #1-ranked Megan Bradley will meet in a highly touted top singles contest.

Both players are undefeated in dual matches with Coin compiling a 19-0 record and Bradley posting an 18-0 mark. Overall, Bradley is 37-1 while Coin is 28-2. They share a common loss as both players lost to Northwestern’s Audra Cohen, a former #1, during the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Oct. Cohen went on to win the tournament Coin’s other loss was in the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in Nov., a tournament that Bradley eventually won.

The top two singles players last went head-to-head on Feb. 7, 2004 when Georgia’s Agata Cioroch defeated Raquel Kops-Jones of California, 6-4, 5-3 (ret.).
