Tom Melton Named Clemson Assistant Strength Coach

CLEMSON, SC – Tom Melton has been named an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Clemson according to Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Joey Batson Monday.

Melton will oversee the strength and conditioning for Clemson’s Olympic Sports programs. He comes from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO where he was an Associate Head Strength Coach and was responsible for the Rams’ 14 Olympic sport teams. He was also in charge of the basketball programs and assisted with football. Melton was at Colorado State since November 1999.

He served as an assistant strength coach at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA in 1998-99. He was also the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wofford in 1996-98 and was a graduate assistant strength coach at the University of South Carolina in 1994-96. Melton graduated from South Carolina with a degree in physical education/sports medicine in 1994.

Melton is a certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
