Times Announced for First Two NCAA Rounds at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The times were announced Friday for the first two rounds of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament to be held at Clemson, SC next weekend.

On Saturday, May 15, Duke will face Charleston Southern at 10:00 a.m. Clemson will play William & Mary at 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, May 16, the two winners will meet at 2:00 p.m. The winner of this subregion will advance to the NCAA’s Final 16 in Athens, GA on May 22-25.

Tickets for this event will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students college age (with ID) and under each day as set by the NCAA.

The Clemson men’s tennis team received a bid Wednesday to play in the 1999 NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers will be making their 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last 21 years. The NCAA men’s tennis tournament went to a team format in 1977, in addition to the individual singles and doubles championships. In the previous 17 appearances, Clemson has reached the final sixteen 11 times and the final eight six times.

The Tigers have a 20-11 record overall this season and are ranked 29th nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Tigers’ doubles team of Pablo Bellagamba and Josh Goffi are ranked 26th nationally.
