Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (12-10, 1-8 ACC) is coming off of a 62-61 victory over Georgia Tech on Sunday, Jan. 29 at Littlejohn Coliseum. Sophomore Aliyah Collier registered a double-double in the win, with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while shooting 7-for-13 from field goal range and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line.
  • When the Tigers face Duke on Feb. 2, it will be the sixth ranked opponent the team has faced in the past nine games and the eighth ranked opponent they have faced so far this season.
  • Collier leads the team in rebounding (8.0 rpg) and is second on the team in scoring at 10.1 ppg. Her rebounding numbers are among the best in the ACC, as she ranks seventh in total rebounds per game (8.0), fifth offensive rebounds per game (3.1) and eighth in defensive rebounds per game (4.9).
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has started all 22 games for the Tigers at the point guard position, leads the team in minutes played per game (31.9) and is third in scoring at 9.8 ppg. Her .845 free throw percentage (49-for-58) ranks seventh in the ACC.
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (13.1 ppg) and assists (3.1 apg).
  • Freshman Kobi Thornton is averaging 8.3 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. Her field goal percentage of .559 (62 for 111) is seventh-best in the ACC and her 2.9 offensive rebounds per game are eighth in the conference.
  • Freshman Jaia Alexander earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors on Jan. 23 for her performance the week of Jan. 16-22, after she averaged 12.0 ppg in two contests and also earned the first start of her Clemson career (at NC State on Jan. 22).
  • Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season. Clemson entered ACC play with an 11-2 record, the program’s best non-conference record since the 2003-04 season. 

Series Information:

  • Duke leads the all-time series against the Tigers with a 39-32 record.
  • Last year when the two teams met in Jervey Gym on Jan. 21, 2016, the Blue Devils won, 72-43.
