Tigers To Conclude Fall Competition at Rivanna Romp

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – The Clemson rowing team is set to conclude its fall slate of competition tomorrow at the Rivanna Romp. The racing, which takes place at the Rivanna Reservoir located just outside of Charlottesville, will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Crews from schools such as Columbia, Penn, Duke, Miami and Louisville will compete against Clemson in the University of Virginia-hosted regatta.

“We enjoy attending this race as the culmination of our fall season,” said head coach Stephen Frazier Wong. “With four ACC teams competing here, we get an idea of how we stack up and how effective our fall training has been.”

The Tigers are sending two Varsity 8+ boats as well as four Varsity 4+ boats to Virginia, and two Novice 8+ boats will also see action on Sunday. The Varsity 8+ competition will start at 11 a.m., followed by the Varsity 4+ at 12:30 p.m., and the afternoon will wrap up with the Novice competition at 12:35 p.m.
