Tigers to Compete in the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s tennis team begins competition Thursday in the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational presented by VISIT FLORIDA. The tournament will run from Thursday, Oct. 30- Sunday, Nov. 2 and will take place between three sites: Grand Cypress, Isleworth, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

Competing for Clemson will be Keisha Clousing ,Tristen Dewar, Joana Eidukonyte, Beatrice Gumulya, Carola Pederzani, Jessy Rompies, and Daniela Ruiz.

The tournament includes 16 teams from all over the country. Clemson, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and host school Florida State represent the ACC. Auburn, UCF, Columbia, Illinois, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, USF, Stetson, Texas Tech and Youngstown State round out the field.

The first round of singles and doubles will be on Thursday with rounds continuing on Friday. The singles and doubles semifinals will be on Saturday as well as consolation rounds. Final rounds will be on Sunday.

Select matches of the tournament will be shown on ESPN3. For fans that want to follow along, results will be tweeted out at the completion of a match from @2014_CCI and @ClemsonWTennis will have updates as well. A tournament recap will be available upon the completion of the tournament on ClemsonTigers.com.
