Tigers Ready for #ACCXC Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. — The cross country teams are headed to the ACC Championships on Friday, which will be held at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. The women’s 6K is set to begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s 8K at 10:45. For the first time ever, the competition will be streamed live on ESPN3. Live results are available at FlashResults.com.

Both teams will be facing stiff competition, as the men run against three of the top 15 teams in the latest national rankings, while the women race against five of the top 25. The Tigers will look to build on a strong performance from their last meet at the Crimson Classic, which saw the men finish first among 24 teams and the women seventh in a field of 25 schools.

This season, the men’s team has been led by graduate student Aaron Ramirez and junior Roland Hakes. Ramirez has been Clemson’s top individual finisher three times, most recently at the Crimson Classic where he finished fifth overall. Hakes, who sat out the Crimson Classic win, was eighth with a personal best 8K time in his most recent meet, the Greater Louisville Classic.

The women have been led by sophomores Grace Barnett and Evie Tate, and senior transfer Natoya Goule. Barnett has finished with the top spot in three of the team’s five meets, while Goule is coming off her first meet leading the Tigers individually at the Crimson Classic.
