Clemson Notes: Clemson is coming off a fifth-place finish out of 20 teams at the Cougar Classic in Charleston … Clemson defeated two top-20 teams and five top-30 teams in the process, and the fifth-place ranking out of 20 teams was Clemson’s best finish in two years … freshman Alice Hewson led the way for Clemson with a six-under-par 210 score in her first college tournament to win co-medalist honors … her second round 65 broke the Clemson record for a single round by three shots … classmate Lauren Stephenson finished 17^th overall with a 220 total as she shot even par in the first round and a team-best 70 in the final round … Clemson was ninth after the first round, then moved up to fifth at the end … Clemson’s Ashlan Ramsey won the Furman Invitational two years ago as a freshman.
