Tigers Complete Play at Riviera/ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA – The Clemson women’s tennis team finished play at the prestigious Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Sunday, with #9 Ina Hadziselimovic fell in the finals of the main draw consolation doubles.

After falling in the main draw first round to 17th-ranked Dy and Ardies from Washington, Bek and Hadziselimovic were put into the consolation doubles round. In their first match, they upset the 6th-ranked duo of Nadja Gilchrist and Chelsey Gullickson from Georgia, before taking down #21 Hillary Bartlett and Taylor Marable from Princeton in the second round. They then fell to 15th-ranked Kristi Frilling and Kali Krisik of Notre Dame in the finals.

In singles, Bek, the #9 player nationally, was upset in the first round of the main draw by Michaela Kissell of Marshall, the #36 player nationally. Bek was then entered into the consolation bracket, where she defeated #63 Vanja Corovic (Texas) and #23 Lenka Broosova (Baylor) before falling to #11 Yasmin Schnack (UCLA) in the semifinals.

The Tigers will now be off until Oct. 21 when they head to the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C.
