Tiger Track & Field Heads to Notre Dame Invitational This Weekend

The Clemson men’s track & field team will travel to South Bend, IN this weekend to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational. The event is set to get underway at 5:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday. The Tigers have six student-athletes who have posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks so far this season, including Jason Bell, Brent Hobbs, Adam Linkenauger, and Travis Padgett.

Competing in the 60m dash this weekend for the Tigers will be Brown and Padgett, both NCAA qualifiers in the event, as well as freshman Brent Hobbs, and Andy Porter. Clemson’s 800m effort will be comprised of Darrian Hodges and Brian Knapp.

Clay Pendleton will run the mile for the Tigers, while Sean Reilly, Eric Soder will run the 3000m. Greg Isaacs, who holds Clemson’s top time in the 5000m this season, will run that event along with Itay Magidi.

Clemson will send Rashad Gardner, and Lydell Perry to run the 60m hurdles. The Tigers will have two 4x400m relay teams competing as well.

In the field events, leading the way will be Jason Bell in the long jump and triple jump. An NCAA qualifier already in the triple jump, Bell will be attempting the long jump for the first time this season. Feathers, Fields, and Hobbs will also compete in the long jump for the Tigers.

Adam Linkenauger will compete in the high jump, an event he has qualified for in the NCAA meet provisionally so far. In the pole vault, Andrew Kessler will be competing. Danny Alge will be the lone representative from Clemson in the 35lb. weight throw.
