Tiger Student-Athletes Excel in Classroom During Spring Semester

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson athletics continued its remarkable 2015-16 academic year with 261 student-athletes posting at least a 3.0 GPA during the spring semester, the university’s Office of Institutional Research announced this week. Athletes posted a semester grade point average of 2.99, with eight teams (men’s soccer, diving, women’s golf, rowing, women’s soccer, women’s track and field, women’s tennis and volleyball) each posting GPAs above 3.0.

Women’s soccer posted a department-best 3.51 GPA for the term, while the men’s soccer team set a new program record with a 3.50 GPA. Volleyball and women’s basketball each posted new single-term records with 3.38 and 2.94 marks, respectively.

54 student-athletes achieved perfect 4.0s for the semester, while 16 maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
