Tiger Rowing Concludes Day One at Aramark Sprints

Oak Ridge, TN – The Tiger rowing team advanced to B finals in four different events following Saturday’s first round action from the Aramark Central/South Region Sprints at Melton Hill Lake. Clemson will compete in the four petite finals Sunday morning.

The Tigers’ day started in the novice 8+ prelims. Clemson’s A team competed in the first heat Saturday morning. The Tigers were runner-up in the heat to Virginia. Clemson had a time of 7:26.14. In the semifinals, the Tigers finished one spot shy of qualifying for the grand final. Clemson’s time in the semifinal was 8:15.32. The B final for the novice 8+ will be Sunday at 10:40 AM.

The varsity 4+ boat placed third in their heat behind Michigan and Minnesota. The Tigers had a time of 7:51.21. In the second semifinal, Clemson had a time of 8:01.14 and placed fifth. The B final for the varsity 4+ will be Sunday at 11:00 AM.

The second varsity 8+ also placed third in their heat Saturday morning. Clemson had a time of 7:00.14, finishing behind Minnesota and Wisconsin. In the first semifinal, the Tigers were sixth with a time of 7:20.11. The B final for the second varsity 8+ will be Sunday at 11:20 AM.

In the varsity 8+, Clemson’s top boat was runner-up in the final heat Saturday morning with a time of 6:44.62. Minnesota won the prelim. In the semifinals, the Tigers finished sixth with a time of 7:08.65. The B final for the varsity 8+ will be Sunday at 11:40 AM.
