Tiger Divers Complete First Day at NCAA Zone B Championships

ATLANTA, GA – The Clemson diving team traveled to Atlanta, GA for the NCAA Zone B Championships Friday. The men competed on the three-meter, while the women competed on the one-meter event.

Freshman Elizabeth Tatum had the best finish on the day for the Tigers by taking 20th on the one-meter. Her score of 226.55 was 4.50 points away from making the finals, as the top 18 compete in the finals. She will compete on the three-meter Saturday, an event in which she set the school record earlier in the season against Duke.

Sophomore Cassie Self finished 25th in the event with a score of 213.55 and fellow sophomore Brooke George took 26th with a score of 209.85. George will also compete on the three-meter.

On the men’s side, senior David Giambra finished 25th on the three-meter with a score of 274.85. He will compete on the one-meter event Saturday.

On Saturday, the women’s competition will get underway at 11:00 a.m. with the three-meter prelims followed by the finals at 1:15 p.m. The men will then compete on the one-meter, with the prelims starting at 3:30 p.m. and the finals at 5:45 p.m.
