Nov. 12, 2008

Clemson, SC – The Clemson Athletic Department has announced it will provide two complimentary tickets to all former veterans and current military personnel on Saturday, November 15th, for the football game against Duke at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12:10 PM and it will be Homecoming on the Clemson campus.

Tickets will be available at Gate 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Gate 11 is located at the Northwest corner of Memorial Stadium, near the West End Zone.

“We are providing these tickets to pay tribute to the Veteran’s Day Holiday of this past week, and to recognize all the former and current service men and women,” said Clemson Senior Associate Athletic Director Bill D’Andrea. “Clemson has a deep-rooted military history, and this is an opportunity for us to recognize those who have served in such an honorable capacity.”

All National Guard personnel and Reserve units will also be eligible for the tickets. All former and current military personnel will be required to show a military identification or some proof of military service to receive the tickets.

In addition to the Homecoming festivities and displays on campus, a replica of the Vietnam War Memorial will be on display on Bowman Field. “The Wall That Heals” will be located in front of Mell Hall on Bowman Field. Viewing is free to the public and is open 24 hours a day beginning on Thursday, November 13 at 12:00 p.m. and ending at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17.
