Tickets Available For Clemson Versus Marshall

Aug. 30, 1999

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson Ticket Manager Van Hilderbrand said Monday that Marshall has returned 500 tickets for Saturday’s season opener in Clemson Memorial Stadium. The seats are on sale at the Clemson ticket office for $25.

Hilderbrand said Marshall had sold 9,500 tickets to the game and that he expects an overall crowd of 75,000 for the contest that will kickoff at 6:00 PM. There will be no live television of the game in South Carolina, but the game will be shown in West Virginia over a local station.

Hilderbrand also announced that a $6 high school ticket will be on sale the day of the game. Students high school age and under may purchase the tickets at the Clemson ticket office on Saturday, or when the gates open.

If the predicted 75,000 attend it will be the third largest home opening crowd in Clemson history. The record is 80,508 for the Clemson vs. Furman game that opened the 1989 season.
