Three Tigers in Final Eight at ITA Regionals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Members of the Clemson women’s tennis team competed at the ITA Carolina Regional Championships held on the campus of Wake Forest on Friday.  The tournament feeds into the ITA Indoor National Championships, held from Nov. 6-9 in New Haven, CT. Three Tigers are among the final eight players remaining in the singles bracket, while Hadziselimovic and Bek have advanced to the final four in doubles.

Freshman Ina Hadziselimovic in the round of eight. Hadziselimovic beat Haley Hemm of UNC before upsetting #19 Ellah Nze of Duke in three sets.

 #9 Josipa Bek is the third Tiger in the final eight, defeating Emma Hayman of College of Charleston and #57 Amanda Granson of Duke.  If Bek can get by Sandyha Nagaraj of NC State tomorrow, she will play either Ciolkowski or Hadziselimovic for a spot in the final four.

 In Doubles, Bek and Hadziselimoivc moved intot he final four, handling Martina Pavelec and Sasha Kulikova of Wake Forest, 8-1.

 #81 Laurianne Henry lost to Monica Gorny of Duke in the round of 32.

 The Tigers return to action on Saturday with five singles matches and a round of doubles. Complete results are below, and Saturday’s schedule can be found at the tournament home page.
