Three Clemson Golfers Named Academic All-ACC

CLEMSON, S.C. – Stephen Behr, Austin Langdale and Carson Young were all named to the Academic All-ACC men’s golf team on Monday. It marked the fourth consecutive year Larry Penley’s team had multiple selections on the team that honors student-athletes who were significant contributors to their respective teams on the course and had at least a 3.0 GPA in the classroom.

It was the second straight year Behr has been selected to the team. He was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team this year. On the course, Behr led Clemson in stroke average with a 72.57 figure.

Langdale and Young made the team as freshmen. The former high school teammates at nearby Pendleton High were starters on the Tigers NCAA Tournament team this year. Langdale was second in stroke average with a 73.00 figure. His season included a victory at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Classic in March. Young had a 74.28 stroke average in his rookie year. He was Clemson’s top player at the NCAA regional in Illinois with a 220 score that was good enough for a sixth place individual finish.
