Gainesville, FL – For the second week in a row, inclement weather shortened a meet for the Clemson women’s track & field team. However, the Lady Tigers got in a significant portion of Saturday’s meet before the threat of severe weather cancelled several events at the Percy Beard Track & Field Stadium.

Clemson did find time to compete in a pair of relays Saturday afternoon, as well as many individual events. Lisa Brown was fifth in the 3000m steeplechase. The junior from Medway, MA posted a time of 12:06.62, which ranks third in school history. She passed teammates Maggie Bernard and Lauren Klas on the all-time performance list.

In the 4x100m relay, Clemson finished 19th out of 36 teams with a time of 47.84. Ra’Sheena Parker, Krystal Barringer, and Michaylin Golladay made up the team. The shuttle hurdle relay team finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:01.32. The lineup was made up of Polly Hardy, Golladay, Patricia Mamona, and Barringer.

Bethanie Wachna won the “B” section of the javelin throw Saturday morning. The sophomore from Canada hit a mark of 144’3″ to easily claim the title. She had a regional-qualifying mark for the second time in as many weeks.

Nakeisha Wineglass came up just short in her bid for a qualifying mark for the East Region Championships in the triple jump. The Alexandria, VA native had a season-best mark of 40’1.5″ and finished second in Saturday’s “B” section.

Emily Barlage competed in Saturday’s “B” section of the pole vault and finished tied for fifth. She had a personal best outdoor clearance at 10’11.75″.

The Lady Tigers return to action next Saturday, April 12 to host the Solid Orange Classic. The meet will get underway at 10:00 AM at the Rock Norman Track.
