Student-Athlete Development: Habitat for Humanity Build

Student-Athlete Development: Habitat for Humanity Build

Clemson Athletics is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity of Pickens County to build a home for a local family in need. Student-athletes are uniting together to not only build a home, but also help build a better community.   All Clemson student-athletes will be participating in building a portion of the home. This will be done through scheduled team builds and through builds open to any student-athlete. Together, the student-athletes work side by side wearing hard hats and safety goggles to accomplish a different kind of victory.   Construction of the house is already underway. Men’s golf kicked off the build in mid-November by working on the foundation. The baseball team followed by preparing the future porch and sub-floor, and the women’s tennis team finished up the flooring. Other teams are scheduled to get to work on the walls and roofing in the New Year.    It is estimated that over 900 hours of service work will be devoted to the build. The athletic department is ready for the challenge and eager to give back to our community.
