Overview: Four-time first-team All-ACC selection, just the third Clemson men’s golfer to do it, joining Jonathan Byrd and D.J, Trahan…four-time All-ACC Academic team and four-time All-District by Coaches Association…ACC Player of the Year in 2018-19, Clemson’s first ACC Player of the Year since Kyle Stanley in 2007…first-team All-American as a senior, Clemson’s first first-team All-American since Kyle Stanley in 2009…honorable mention All-American by Coaches Association as a sophomore and second-team All-American as a junior…holder of 27 Clemson records on a round, tournament, season and career basis….ranked second in Clemson history in career stroke average with a 71.07 figure (min of 50 rounds)…he only trails teammate Doc Redman, who played just two years and had 70.70 average…ranked #8 player in the nation by Golfweek and #11 by Golfstat in final rankings…ranked in the top 20 as a junior in both in 2017-18, he finished 56th by Golfweek/Sagarin in 2016-17….for his career his score has counted 123 of 131 career rounds playing for Clemson team, including all 37 rounds in 2018-19…has scored under par in 73 of his 134 career rounds, has 28 career top 10s, 46 rounds in the 60s and 82 rounds at par or better…he is first in school history in career top 10 finishes and career rounds in the 60s…118 of his 134 rounds have been at 75 or under, including 34 of 37 as a senior…first on Clemson team in stroke average as a senior and junior, third in scoring average as a sophomore with a 71.33 stroke average, ..finished in top 10 in 10 of 12 tournaments this year and 14 of his last 16 over two years…entered NCAA National with five straight top 10 finishes in post season (ACC or NCAA) tournaments, but finished 43rd at national tournament…has shot even par or better 30 of his 44 career tournaments in four years…his 73 under-par rounds are  second in school history, trailing only the 78 by D.J. 2018-19:   Won four tournaments in final season, the most in a season in Clemson history…opened the season with consecutive wins at Carpet Classic (206, -10) and Maui Jim (195, -15)…also won Puerto Rico Classic in February (210, -6) and Clemson Invitational (199, -17)…finished second at the NIKE (205, -5) and the John Hayt Collegiate (214, -2)…finished 8th in nation by Golfweek and 11th by Golfstat… had a Clemson season record seven top five finishes….tied Clemson season record of 10 top 10 finishes, Trahan had 10 top 10s in 2001-02 when he won the Nicklaus Award…had just two finishes outside the top 7 all year…set Clemson season record for rounds in the 60s with 20…has second most under-par rounds with 24…on pace for Clemson record in terms of stroke average, he has a 69.06 figure entering the national tournament and the record is 70.33 by Trahan in 2001-02…tied Clemson 54-hole score record with 195 in winning the Maui Jim…set Clemson record for score vs. par in a 54-hole event when he shot -17 (199) at Clemson Invitational…73-under-par for the year, 24 shots ahead of the existing Clemson record…had six consecutive rounds in the 60 in the fall to set a Clemson record…went 69-65 to end Carpet Classic, then went 67-63-65 in winning Maui Jim…then had opening 69 at NIKE…also had three rounds in the 60s at Clemson Invitational (66-69-64)…only player in Clemson history to have four FINAL rounds at 65 or better in same season…had final round 65 in each of his first three tournaments this year…first-team All-ACC, ACC Player of the Year and one of 10 finalists for the Haskins Award…had 168 birdies this year to break D.J. Trahan’s season record of 64 in 2001-02…score has counted in all 37 roundsthe season eighth in the nation in scoring average vs. par (-1.62), fourth in total birdies (168), ninth in par three scoring average (3.00) and 12th in par four scoring (3.98)….had 10th best raw scoring average in the nation at 69.73…the top Clemson player in 22 rounds and eight of the 12 stroke play tournaments….finished third at the ACC Tournament and sixth at the Austin Regional…finished 43rd at NCAA national tournament, helping Tigers to tie for 8th…his second round 71 was highlight round for him.

2017-18: Ranked as 11th best player in the nation by Golfstat and 18th by Golfweek…shot 75 or better in every round until the last one in the final round of the NCAA Tournament, a streak of 30 in a row…was trying to become first player in school history to shoot 75 or better in every round in a season….Clemson’s top player at the NCAA National Tournament with a seventh-place finish and 285 total, three-under-par…had first round 64 to lead the field after first round…had eight birdies and no bogeys…that was his career best round and best round by a Clemson golfer in the NCAA Tournament (regional or national)…his 64 was the best round of the tournament by any player…had the lead entering the final round of the NCAA National Tournament, but shot a 78 in final round to finish 7th…ranked No. 9 in the nation in par four scoring at 3.98, No. 20 in scoring average vs. par, -1.06 and No. 20 in scoring average at 70.50.….first on Clemson team in stroke average at 70.50, second best in Clemson history behind D.J. Trahan’s 70.33 in 201-02…had team best 21 under-par rounds, including eight in a row entering the NCAA National tournament…made the streak nine in a row with first round 64…had a  team best eight top 10 finishes in 10 events, tied for third best in Clemson history…had 12 rounds in the 60s, best on the squad and tied for sixth best in Clemson history……a team best 36-under-par…his seven-under-par 65 in the second round at the Carpet Classic tied for best by a Tiger during the regular season…had three rounds at 68 or better at Carpet…finished career best tying second place at Carpet Classic near Atlanta in the first tournament of the year thanks to a nine-under-par score of 207 score…finished seventh at  Trinity Forest with a 209 score, then had a third straight top 10 at the Nike Elite in Oregon…in each of his first three tournaments had two rounds in the 60s… averaged 68.75 in the final round in the fall… had 132 birdies, most on the team…had two eagles at Trinity Forest…..began spring with No. 21 finish at Puerto Rico, helping Tigers to team title…then finished seventh at Bandon Dunes with 207 total, six under…has three straight top 10s to end the season, fourth at Clemson Invitational, eighth at ACC Tournament and fifth at NCAA Regional…had final round 67 at ACC Tournament to help Clemson to second-place finish and final round 67 at NCAA Regional to help Clemson to another second place…had best round of the day for any golfer in final round at regional…21-under-par for his last two tournaments…finished in the top 10 in five of his last six events, including four in a row.

Summer 2017: Had a pair of top 10 finishes during the summer. …after competing in the Sunnehanna (final round 69) and the Northeast Amateur (opening round 68), finished sixth at the Dogwood Amateur….shot 15-under-par 273 after rounds of 65-68-70-70…in next event finished second at Players Amateur in his hometown of Bluffton…shot 13-under-par 271….had four rounds in the 60s, he shot 69-69-65-68 in gaining his runner-up finish at the national event …finished solid 27th at Southern Amateur against national field with 286 score, he shot third round 68 to highlight his week…finished the summer by playing in the Western Amateur.

In 2016-17: Third on team in scoring average at 71.33, he was just two total strokes short of Carson Young’s total for the season in the same number of rounds…also second on the team in top 10 finishes with seven and tied for first in rounds in the 60s with 11…had at least one round in the 60s in nine of the 13 tournaments, including each of the last five…entered the NCAA National Tournament on a hot streak, he tied for first at the end of regulation at the ACC Tournament (lost playoff involving four players), then finished sixth at the NCAA Regional…Clemson’s best player at both events…great starts had a lot to do with that as he shot 66 in opening round of each event…finished season ranked No. 56 in Golfweek/Sagarin…tied for seventh in the nation in total birdies with team best 156…ranked #19 in the nation in subpar strokes per round with 4.19…ranked in top 75 in the nation in scoring average on par 3,4 and 5 holes…had 72.31 stroke average in first round and 71.54 in final round…his score counted in 35 of 39 rounds…had best score of the day a team best 14 times and was team’s best player in six of the 13 tournaments…drove ball in fairway team best .750 and reached green in regulation team best 70 percent of the time…had double figures in birdies in nine of 13 tournaments…had his best performance of the fall at the Carpet Classic when he finished fifth with a nine-under-par score of 207….had improving rounds of 70-69-68 over the three days to lead the Tigers… had career best 18 birdies in the Carpet Classic to tie for most among Clemson golfers …followed that up with a 10th place at Jackrabbit with a one-under-par 215 to help the Tigers to the team victory…shot combined seven-over at Nike and at the Golf Club of Georgia before finishing strong with 210 at Ka’anpali to finish 19th…his performance at Ka’anapili included a career best 65 in the final round…that 65 helped Clemson to a 20-under-par 264 in the final round to help the Tigers to the team title…that 264 was the best team round in the nation during the fall season…started the spring with a second-place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic, his 207 is his career best tying performance with 2016 Carpet Classic…after 30th place at Palmetto, finished fifth at Furman and eighth at Clemson Invitational…joined William Nottingham as only Tigers with top 10 finishes at ACC and NCAA Regional.

Summer 2016:  Had outstanding and active summer….started by shooting 139 at US Open qualifier in Jacksonville on June 6, he finished eighth overall, but just one shot out of a playoff for the last spot…finished sixth at the Dogwood Invitational with a 275 score, 13-under-par…finished sixth at the Players Amateur in Bluffton near his hometown, he shot a 280, eight-under-par…finished 18th at the Palmetto with a two-over-par score, the only event he was over par all summer…came back strong with a pair of 66s at his US Amateur qualifier, he won by five shots with 132 score…finished third at the South Carolina Amateur in August with a 287 score, one-under-par…teammate Carson Young won the event with 277 score…so, Bryson played in six events and had five top 10s….qualified for the US Amateur and reached second round of match play…shot 71-68 at US Amateur stroke play. ..shot 72 or better in 19 of 22 rounds, he shot in the 60s, eight times.

In 2015-16:  Played just eight tournaments, but still earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors and first-team All-ACC…also Academic All-ACC… second at the individual tournament for the Puerto Rico Classic…that performance got him into the Bandon Dunes and he finished fourth, second best among the Clemson contingent…tied for honors among Clemson golfers with fourth-place finish at ACC Tournament… shot under par in all three rounds…shot 209 for that tournament, just two shots off Clemson freshman record for the ACC Tournament…had three rounds in the 60s, but all three came in the first round….finished 25th at Valspar, which tied for first among the Tigers, and was 12th at the Clemson Invitational…had five straight top 25 finishes between Feb. 21 and April 24…his score counted 17-21 rounds…. had best round of the day four times…ranked No 134 by Golfweek and No. 149 by Golfstat at the end of the season….Dean’s List student for spring semester with a 3.60 GPA.

Summer 2015:  Had an active summer playing in six events…had four rounds in the 60s and two others at 70…had three top 25 finishes, including a top five…started summer with a 22nd place finish at the Palmetto Amateur…had 289 total for the four rounds, including a 67 in the third round….followed that two weeks later with summer best fifth-place finish at Rice Planters…had 14-under-par score of 274…had rounds of 70-65-71-68…his second round 65 was his best of the summer…finished 37th at the Players Amateur with a 292 score, then finished 18th at his US Amateur qualifier with a 145 score…finished 21st at Oglethorpe Invitational in Savannah with a 212 score…had rounds of 68-69-75…finished his summer with 306 score at South Carolina Amateur to finish 52nd.

In High School:  Led Hilton Head Christian Academy to state 3A Championship by 30 shots in 2013….named to the all-state team…won the 2013 Jimmy Self Invitational and captured the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Charleston Junior Open…in 2014 win the IJGA Junior Open with rounds of 67-69-67 and finished second at the AJGA ICOD Championship…was sixth at the SCGA Junior Championship as well…number-one prospect in South Carolina according to the SCJGA…ranked No. 46 nationally by Junior Golf Scoreboard and N. 33 in the class of 2015 by Golfweek….

Personal:  Born Bryson Worthy Nimmer on  November 9, 1996…son of Tony and Patsy Nimmer… his father, Tony Nimmer, lettered on Clemson’s golf team from 1980-83 and played on Clemson’s first NCAA Tournament team in 1980…college teammate of current Clemson Head Coach Larry Penley in 1980 and 1981…starter on Clemson’s 1982 team that won school’s first ACC Tournament and first national top five team of 1983.
