Public Service Announcements at Football and Basketball Games Regarding Compliance • Looking for athletes to participate • We are considering some newer, more creative ideas for the announcements • Look on the online evaluation form to sign up to participate

Abby Daniel: 2009-2010 Student Body President • Introduction and Welcome

Greensboro, NC ACC SAAC Conference Update – Rachel Regone and Tyler Morey • Thank you for filling out Championship Surveys – let’s remember to keep the language clean and mature – Men’s Soccer: Wanted all games for the conference tournament played on the main field. Denied because of lighting issues, etc – Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving: Potential combined conference championship denied – Men’s & Women’s Track and Field: Wanted all conference championships to be held at Virginia Tech. Denied, but next year’s championship may be held there – Men’s and Women’s XC: Will probably move to chip system for timing to ensure better accuracy – Volleyball: Potential conference tournament with decrease of regular season games, be on the lookout for a survey

• Conference-Wide Community Service Project – Positive discussion about it, will probably start serious discussion on dates and ideas next September

• The ACC would like to remind all student-athletes that they are a non-profit organization and 90% of the money they make is returned to the conference institutions

• Community Service idea from Florida State – “Semi-gnome” – an object that is passed around teams and photographed in community service projects those teams do – When a team receives the gnome, they have about two weeks to do a community service project

• Sportsmanship Award – Clemson’s ACC nominees were Maggie Bernard and C.J. Spiller – Maggie Bernard was chosen by the ACC to represent us at the national level for the NCAA Sportsmanship Award!

Jason Chatlosh & Lauren Klas: Solid Orange Benefit Update • Solid Orange Benefit cancelled due to lack of sufficient time for planning • Student-Athlete Lunch Date Auction proposed in its place – Clemson Compliance uncomfortable with idea, so idea dismissed

• Despite disappointment, work on both projects lays a solid foundation for successful work next year

Linda White and Cassy LaRussa: Be A TIGER Field Day Wrap-Up • Most successful year in history • Multiple team participation • Over 600 kids showed up

Elections • Voting members are representatives from each team • Non-voting members are new members and current officers

SAAC Retreat • August 16, 2009 • New officers will help plan • Great team-building prior to working together as a group all year

Closing – Rachel Regone: THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!
