Rowing Team Plays Host to Tail of the Tiger to Open Fall Season

Sept. 30, 2005

The Clemson rowing team will begin its 2005 fall season on Saturday by playing host to the Tail of the Tiger on Lake Hartwell. The event is scheduled to get underway at 9:00 AM. Competing in the women’s races will be teams from Georgia and the Clemson Rowing Association. Last season, the Tiger rowers swept the races and only one boat from Clemson was defeated the entire event.

The varsity 8+ will be the first competition for the women and will feature two boats from Clemson. The novice 4+ will go at 9:05 AM and will also feature two Tiger boats. The second flight of races will occur at 10:00 AM with the novice 8+ race, followed by the varsity 4+ race which will feature six boats in total.

The third flight of races will begin at 11:00 AM and will feature pairs and doubles from Clemson. Six sets of pairs will race at 11:05 AM.

Clemson will look to build upon an exciting 2004-05 season which saw the Tigers finish third in the South Region and 10th overall at the Aramark Central/South Region Sprints last May.
