“Purple Out” T-Shirt Design Fan Vote

Thank you to all who voted! #ClemsonMAD2 was the winning design with 48% of the 2,000+ total votes! Last year the Clemson University Student Government, Clemson Athletic Department and IPTAY held Clemson’s first ever “Purple Out” at the Military Appreciation Day football game vs. The Citadel on Saturday, November 22.  The goal of the “Purple Out,” a student-driven initiative, was to fill Death Valley with the color purple, meant to represent the great significance purple has to the United States Military and Clemson University. The first-ever “Purple Out” was a huge success and it’s happening again this year…with a twist. This year fans got to choose the design of this year’s “Purple Out” T-shirts by voting on ClemsonTigers.com and social media! The general public will be able to purchase the shirts at ClemsonTigers.com and participating retailers, who will be announced at a later date. Clemson University Student Government, the Clemson Athletic Department and IPTAY are proud to partner with Knights Apparel, a South Carolina-based business and owner of the Alta Gracia brand, for the production of these shirts.  The Alta Gracia factory, located in Villa Altagracia, Dominican Republic, is making a difference in the lives of its workers by paying every worker a living wage, which equates to 3.5 times the minimum wage in the Dominican Republic.  It is the only factory in the developing world to meet this standard and thus be certified by the Workers Rights Consortium.
