Head Coach Jim Davis after the Clemson practice Friday afternoon. The Lady Tigers practiced for one hour at the Greensboro Coliseum.
“We had a good practice,” said Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis. “The team is upbeat and they shot the ball well. We practiced for one gour and we didn’t waste any time. We practiced with intensity. We have played well in the last three games. One of our concerns that we have is that our team is young and they may have tournament jitters.
“It’s tough playing a team on Monday night and having to play them again Saturday night. N.C. State is very good inside. We will have to avoid any letdown in the momentum that we have built in the last few games.
“We are happy to be part of the longest running conference tournament in America. This tournament has grown and it’s because of early pioneers like Kay Yow at N.C. State, Debbie Leonard at Virginia and Chris Weller at Maryland. All three of those coaches have been at their schools all 25 years of the ACC Women’s Tournament. Also you have to credit the administration at the ACC and at each ACC school for building such a wonderful event.”
