Orange & White Scrimmage Set For August 20

CLEMSON, S.C. – Saturday, August 20 at 5 p.m., Clemson volleyball fans will have the chance to watch the Tigers in action during the annual Orange and White Scrimmage in Jervey Gym. With both basketball programs moving into the newly renovated Littlejohn Coliseum, Jervey Gym is back in 2016 as a volleyball-only facility.

“I think our fans are going to be excited to see us back at it this year,” said head coach Hugh Hernesman. “We’ve seen huge growth from our young players and have Annie (Carter) and ‘D’ (Dejhana Cotton) healthy again and are very encouraged by their progress. There will be some great position battles going on this preseason, so I’m sure the intensity of this scrimmage will be pretty high.”

“Additionally, we’re back to Jervey being like Jervey has been in the past. Both sides of the bleachers are pulled out and we’re back on the Taraflex floor, so the incredible energy and atmosphere that Jervey exudes will only strengthen this year.”

The Tigers return nine student-athletes from last year’s roster and welcome six new faces into the Clemson volleyball family in 2016. Of the 15 total student-athletes on the roster, just four are upperclassmen. Leah Perri and Sydney Moseley are about to begin their senior seasons while Meghan Hanewall and transfer setter, Keely Hayes are ready for their junior campaigns.
