  • Clemson and South Carolina have met at least once per year since 1978.
  • Clemson leads the overall series with the Gamecocks 24-17-1.
  • Last season, Clemson traveled to Columbia on Sept. 2, a 2-1 South Carolina win in double overtime. 
  • In 2013, Clemson’s Thales Moreno scored a golden goal in the 101st minute to give the Tigers the win. Last season, South Carolina’s Koty Millard scored a golden goal in the 102nd minute to give the Gamecocks the win. 
  • Clemson has scored seven goals in two matches so far this season. 
  • Senior captain Paul Clowes was named this week’s ACC Offensive Player of the Week for his two goals last weekend, as many as he scored all of last season. 
  • Clemson is ranked sixth in the Soccer America poll, ninth in the NSCAA poll and 11th in TopDrawerSoccer.com’s poll. 

Ticketing Notes

  • Friday’s match will take place directly following Clemson’s annual First Friday parade. Fans are encourage to come from the parade to the match. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at this link.
  • One price will be charged for admission to all fans, $4. 

Palmetto Series Notes

  • Clemson and South Carolina will meet for the first time in the Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series this year. The Series highlights Clemson-South Carolina match-ups across all varsity sports. Each school will earn points with every win over the other. 
  • Clemson won the first point in the Certified SC Grown Palmetto Series last weekend with women’s soccer’s 2-1 victory over South Carolina.
