No. 29 Men’s Tennis Downs Florida State, 5-2

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team defeated Florida State 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center. Tomasz Boniecki, Luis Garcia, Micah Thompson, and Darren Knight each won singles matches for the Tigers. Boniecki leads the Tigers with an 18-3 overall singles record and his win against the Seminoles was his 11th victory in a row. Four of the six singles matches played by the two teams went to three sets.

The duo of Knight and Josh Goffi played nuumber-one doubles and they defeated Noah Schnell and Jay Travis of Florida State 8-0. Goffi and Knight lead the Tigers with a 17-7 doubles record. The win improved the 29th ranked Tigers to 12-5 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. Clemson’s next match will be on March 17 at the University of Southern California.
