Men’s Track & Field Ranked Eighth Nationally in Latest Trackwire Projections

Clemson, SC – The men’s track & field team ranks eighth in the latest national projections according to Trackwire. Clemson has three student-athletes ranked among the ‘Dandy Dozen’ in various events, as well as the 4x100m relay team. The Tiger program has regional qualifiers in 11 different events this season, led by four student-athletes in the 100m dash alone.

C.J. Spiller are also regional qualifiers in the 100m. Brown, Ford, and Padgett are also qualified in the 200m.

The Tigers’ 4x100m relay team is listed third in the ‘Dandy Dozen’. Clemson has recorded the nation’s third-best time this season at 39.48, which the group of Padgett, Brown, Spiller, and Ford accomplished in a runner-up finish at the ACC Championships last month. Clemson’s 4x400m relay team, which won the ACC title in April, has also qualified for the East Region Championships.

In the field, Jason Bell ranks #6 in the latest Trackwire reports this week in the triple jump. The senior from Warner Robins, GA has qualified for regionals in the event and most recently finished third at the Penn Relays.

Other regional qualifiers for Clemson this season are Itay Magidi (steeplechase), Adam Linkenauger (high jump), George Fields (long jump), and Mitch Greeley (pole vault).
