Men’s Tennis Falls to Wake Forest

April 4, 1998 CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men were defeated today by ACC foe Wake Forest 4-3 in a men’ s intercollegiate tennis match at Clemson, SC on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Wake Forest improves to 3-2 in the ACC and 11-8 overall while the Tigers fall to 10-11 overall and 2-2 in the ACC.

The Tigers and the Demon Deacons split the singles, winning three each. In the number one singles, Myles Clouston defeated Bruce Li 7-5, 7-6. Clemson won the next three singles starting with Pablo Bellagamba defeating Billy Gluck 6-0, 6-1. In number three singles, Josh Goffi won over Johan Hansen 6-4, 6-2 and teammate Brad Emendorfer defeated Lars Kabiersch 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Wake Forest took the next two singles with Raul Monoz winning over Darren Knight 6-4, 6-2 and Andres Guzman defeated Joey Hopke 7-6, 6-3.

Clemson will be in action again Saturday, April 11 at North Carolina. The time for that match is 10 am.
