Men’s Soccer Wins Season Opener

BUIES CREEK, NC — John Wilson scored two goals in leading seventh-ranked Clemson to a 4-1 win over Campbell in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Buies Creek, NC Tuesday night.

This was the season opener for both squads. Clemson is ranked seventh in the Soccer America poll. The Tigers will play at Florida International on Friday in Clemson’s next match.

Wilson, a senior from Seneca, SC, scored the game’s first goal at the 7:11 mark with an assist by Pablo Webster. Jeremey Iwaszkowiec scored :04 seconds before halftime at the 44:56 point into the game from an assist by Scott Bower.

Wojtek Krakowiak scored early in the second half (54:56) from assists by Bob Cavanagh and Jeff Bilyk.

Wilson scored his second goal at the 76:29 mark from a pass by Cavanagh.

Matt Harrison scored for Campbell at the 88:26 mark from an assist by Pasi Kinturi.
