The 13th-ranked Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to Coastal Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. on Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers received a first round bye.
Clemson is led in scoring by Dimelon Westfield with 20 goals and four assists for 44 points. Steven Rhyne has six goals and nine assist for 21 points. Fabio Tambosi leads the team with 12 assists.
The Tigers have a 12-4-3 record overall, and Clemson is ranked 14th by Soccer America and Soccertimes.com. The Tigers are ranked 13th by the NSCAA. Coastal Carolina will enter the match with a 19-2-2 record overall. The Chanticleers defeated South Carolina 2-1 in overtime on November 23. Coastal Carolina is led in scoring by Joseph Ngwenya with 26 goals and nine assists for 61 points. Mike Littlefield has 16 goals and three assist for 35 points.
This will be the sixth meeting between Clemson and Coastal Carolina on the soccer field. The Tigers lead the overall series 5-0.
