Men’s Soccer Sweeps ACC Weekly Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s soccer team swept the ACC’s weekly honors for the last week of the regular season, as the conference announced on Monday that Robbie Robinson earned Offensive Player of the Week and Patrick Bunk-Andersen was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week.

The Tigers concluded the regular season with two conference wins, with one being a 3-2 over No. 20 Syracuse last Tuesday night and the second a 3-0 senior day shutout of NC State on Saturday.

From the conference release:
After being injured for most of the season, Robinson netted his first two goals of the year at a crucial time for the Tigers, who wrapped up the year with two much-needed conference wins. Both goals showed off Robinson’s talent from long range, with the first coming as a low shot from outside the box to give Clemson a 2-0 advantage over Syracuse, and the second on a 25-yard free kick that sealed the Tigers’ 3-0 win over NC State.

Bunk-Andersen played a major role on the back line last week for the Tigers, who posted two of their best defensive efforts in conference play. More notably, in addition to contributing to the shutout of NC State in the regular-season finale, Bunk-Andersen also assisted on Clemson’s first goal of the night against the Wolfpack, feeding the ball up to Kimarni Smith to record his first assist of the year on his senior night at Historic Riggs Field.
