Men’s Soccer Downs Loyola Of Chicago, 1-0

CLEMSON, S.C. — Ross Goodacre scored the game’s only goal as Clemson defeated Loyola of Chicago 1-0 in a men’s intercollegiate soccer match at Clemson, SC Wednesday night.

With the win, Clemson improves to 6-5-2 overall, while Loyola of Chicago drops to 5-8-3 this season.

Goodacre scored his goal at the 72:47 mark with assists by Pablo Webster and Bob Cavanagh. Webster threw the ball into play, Cavanagh flicked it to Goodacred who headed the ball into the goal from close range. This was Goodacre’s second goal of the season.

The Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to South Carolina on Friday night at 5:45 p.m. on Historic Riggs Field.

The Clemson-USC match was originally scheduled for October 10, but was postponed due to excessive wet conditions. The Tigers will also play host to UNC-Charlotte on Sunday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m.

In women’s soccer action, the Lady Tigers will play host to Duke at 8:00 p.m. on Friday night. On Sunday, N.C. State will play at Clemson at 1:00 p.m. in the Lady Tigers’ last home match of the regular season.
