Matt Clark Named ACC Cross Country Performer-of-the-Week

Oct. 16, 2007

Greensboro, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Matt Clark as its Cross Country Performer-of-the-Week on Tuesday. Clark, a senior from Hyannis, MA, earned a 14th-place finish at last weekend’s Pre-NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN.

Clark is a three-time ACC Performer-of-the-Week selection in cross country, as he also won the honor in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Competing in his first meet of the season, he recorded a personal best time of 23:37 at the 8K Pre-Nationals course. It was the top time ever at that particular course by a Clemson men’s cross country runner.

He was All-Region and All-ACC in cross country in 2005 before sitting out the 2006 season due to injury. Clark was a four-time All-ACC performer in 2007 on the track, which included an individual title in the 10,000m last April.
