Blacksburg, VA – Patricia Mamona recorded her second runner-up finish of the weekend Saturday in the long jump to lead Clemson’s women’s track & field team on the final day of competition at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet. Mamona was runner-up Friday in the triple jump after posting a strong NCAA qualifying mark.

Mamona was second in the long jump after finishing with a top distance of 19’8″. Her top mark this season was 19’9.75″ at Florida two weeks ago. Not far behind her Saturday was freshman April Sinkler, who placed fifth overall after a mark of 18’10.75″.

Caroline Kennedy earned a tie for third place Saturday in the invitational pole vault. The Orlando, FL native matched her personal best with a clearance of 12’5.5″. Her mark ranks in a tie for third in school history.

Jenna Baker earned a third-place finish in the open section of the mile run. The freshman from Ohio posted a time of 5:05.65, which ranks second on the team this season behind only Stephanie Buffo.

Polly Hardy was seventh in the invitational high hurdles. She had a time of 8.52 on Saturday. Michaylin Golladay was 10th in the 400m dash with a season-best time of 58.32. She led a trio of Lady Tigers in the event, as Sierra Hill (58.51) and Christina Mason (58.55) were 11th and 12th respectively.

Abby Iselborn was the team’s top finisher in the 3000m run Saturday. She had a time of 10:26.61, an improvement of nearly nine seconds from when she ran the 3K earlier this year at the Clemson Invitational.

The women’s track & field team returns home to host the Tiger Invitational next weekend at the school’s indoor facility.
