CLEMSON, S.C. – Three days after winning the doubles national championship at the 2018 Oracle ITA Fall National Championships, seniors Marie-Alexandre Leduc and Fernanda Navarro were rewarded for their performance with a third-place ranking in the ITA’s final fall doubles poll.

Leduc and Navarro posted a 9-3 overall record during the fall season, going 8-1 in their last nine matches. The duo was 3-1 at the ITA Carolinas Regional, advancing to the semifinals of the event in Chapel Hill, NC from Oct. 18-22. They went on to conclude the fall season with a 5-0 performance to claim the national title at the Fall National Championships in Surprise, Ariz. from Nov. 7-11, becoming the first-ever Clemson women’s tennis team to win the fall doubles national championship.

Of their nine wins during the fall season, Leduc and Navarro defeated six opponents that were ranked in the top-50 of the ITA’s fall preseason poll, including four in the top-20 and two in the top-10 (No. 7 Golovin and Richardson of LSU and No. 9 Kauffman and Proctor of Wintrop).

Leduc, Navarro and the rest of the 2018-19 Tiger team will open the spring season on Jan. 18, 2019 at the brand new Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
