Lady Tigers To Host Anderson College In Exhibition Game Tuesday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Lady Tigers basketball team will hold their first exhibition game of the 2005-06 season against Anderson College on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7:00 PM. Tickets for the game will be available at the Littlejohn Coliseum gate and are $6 for adults and $4 for high school age and under. Students and faculty will be admitted free, and the gates will open at 6:00 PM.

The Lady Tigers return 12 players from the 2004-05 team, including seniors Lauren Allen, Amanda Frist (formerly Tasha Phillips, Khaili Sandes and Julie Talley. Four starters also return from last season’s squad as Allen, Frist and Talley had 57 starts between them. Sophomore Tasha Taylor earned the start at point guard for the final 11 games on the 2004-05 season and will again be called upon to direct the team’s offense. The Lady Tigers also welcome two freshmen to the team as Christy Brown and Susan Yenser enter their first season at Clemson.

Anderson College is coming off a 33-3 season that included conference regular season and tournament titles and a trip to the NCAA Division II post-season tournament. The Lady Trojans are coached by Jeff Dow, who begins his first season with the team, and are led by LaShonda Chiles. Chiles was last year’s Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Female Athlete of the Year and the CVAC Player of the Year.

The Lady Tigers will kick off their regular season at the fourth annual WBCA/BTI Classic in Tempe, AZ from Nov. 11-12. Clemson will face Missouri on Friday night and will then meet either host Arizona State or Vanderbilt on Saturday. The team will hold their home opener on Friday, Nov. 18 against Tennessee Tech at 5:00 PM.
