CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – The Clemson women’s basketball team will play Virginia Monday night (January 7) at 7:00 p.m. in University Hall at Charlottesville, VA.
The game will be televised live on both the Fox Sports Net South and Sunshine Networks.
Clemson will enter the contest with a 9-4 record overall, 1-1 in the ACC.
Virginia will enter the contest with an 8-5 record overall, and a 1-1 mark in the ACC.
Clemson has a 9-4 record overall this season. In the Lady Tigers most recent action, Virginia Tech defeated Clemson 68-58 at Blacksburg, VA on January 3. This loss broke a six-game winning streak for the Lady Tigers.
Chrissy Floyd leads the Lady Tigers in scoring with a 17.2 ppg. average. Krystal Scott, who led the Lady Tigers in scoring in the Virginia Tech game with 16 is the squad’s second leading scorer with a 11.9 ppg. mark. Maggie Slosser leads Clemson in rebounding with a 5.7 rpg. mark. Krystal Scott leads the Lady Tigers in assists with 44. Scott also is first on the team in steals with 23.
The Cavaliers are led in scoring by Telisha Quarles with a 15.9 ppg. average. Brandi Teamer leads the squad in rebounding with a 8.5 rpg. mark.
This will be the 52nd meeting between Clemson and Virginia on the basketball court. The Cavaliers lead the overall series 28-23. In games played at Charlottesville, VA, the Cavaliers lead the series 14-8. Head Coach Jim Davis is 13-21 vs. Virginia. Last season, the Lady Tigers defeated Virginia twice during the year. Clemson defeated Virginia 87-71 at Charlottesville, VA on January 15. Marci Glenney scored a career-high 21 points in this game.
