CLEMSON’S RECORD Clemson is 19-8 overall this season. The Lady Tigers are 10-3 at home this season. Clemson is 10-6 in the ACC.

BATTH AND FLOYD NAMED SECOND-TEAM ALL-ACC Clemson Lady Tiger basketball players, Erin Batth and Chrissy Floyd were both named second-team All Atlantic Coast Conference as announced by the Atlantic Coast Sportswriters Association (ACSWA) Tuesday.

Sophomore guard, Erin Batth is second on the team in scoring with a 12.7 ppg. mark. Batth leads the team in rebounding with a 8.7 rpg. mark.

Erin Batth is fourth in the ACC in rebounding with a 8.7 rpg. mark.

Erin Batth is 10th for most blocked shots with a 0.88 figure. Batth is also third for most offensive rebounds with a 3.38 average.

LADY TIGER RANKINGS Clemson is ranked 19th in the USA Today poll and 25th in the Associated Press listing. Clemson first appeared in both polls on December 26, 2000.

LADY TIGERS ARE SEEDED SECOND IN ACC TOURNAMENT Clemson is seeded second in this year’s ACC Tournament. This is the second time Clemson has been seeded second in ACC Tournament history. The Lady Tigers will play the winner of the Georgia Tech-North Carolina game on Saturday, March 3, at 4:30 p.m. North Carolina is seeded seventh and Georgia Tech is seeded eighth. In the history of the ACC Tournament, a seventh-seeded team has defeated the second seeded team only once. In the present format, the second-seeded team is 2-0 vs. the seven-eight winner. In 1992, seventh-seeded Georgia Tech upset second-seeded Maryland 68-67 on March 7.

BATTH NAMED TO THE ALL-ACC DEFENSIVE TEAM The 2000-01 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Defensive Team spotlights five players representing four league teams as the top defensive players as selected by the nine ACC women’s basketball head coaches.

Clemson senior Erin Batth currently ranks fourth in the ACC, averaging 8.7 boards per game. She also ranks 10th in the league averaging 0.88 blocks per game and has tallied 227 rebounds this season, including 139 defensive boards.

THE SERIES WITH GEORGIA TECH This will be the 48th meeting between Clemson and Georgia Tech on the basketball court. The Lady Tigers lead the overall series 36-9. Clemson defeated Georgia Tech twice this season. On January 18, the Lady Tigers defeated Tech 72-64 in Atlanta, GA. On February 19, Clemson defeated the Yellow Jackets 68-49 at Clemson, SC. Clemson has won nine out of the last 10 games with Georgia Tech with an average margin of victory being 15.9 points.

THE SERIES WITH NORTH CAROLINA This will be the 58th meeting between Clemson an North Carolina on the basketball court. The Tar Heels lead the overall series 33-25. North Carolina defeated Clemson twice this season. On January 8, the Tar Heels defeated Clemson 71-70 at Clemson. On Febuary 8, North Carolina defeated Clemson 100-99 in double overtime at Chapel Hill, NC. In the last five meetings, a total of nine points seperate the two teams. The Lady Tigers won the ACC Tournament in 1996 and 1999, and have played in the ACC Championship game in four of the last five years. Head Coach Jim Davis has an 18-12 record in the ACC Tournament during his Clemson career.

CLEMSON’S BARBARA KENNEDY-DIXON NAMED THE ACC TOURNAMENT’S MVP THREE TIMES Former Clemson player and former Assistant Coach Barbara Kennedy-Dixon is the only player in the ACC to be named the ACC Tournament MVP on three occasions. Kennedy won the award in 1980, 1981, and was named Co-MVP in 1982. Clemson made it to the semifinal rounds in 1980 and 1981, while in 1982 the Lady Tigers advanced to the finals. Kennedy-Dixon is the first player in ACC history to win the award and not be a member of a team in the championship round. She did this on two occasions, 1980 and 1981.

LADY TIGERS IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP GAME Clemson has been in the ACC Tournament Championship game six times, (1982, 1989, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999). The Lady Tigers won the ACC Championship in 1996 and 1999. Head Coach Jim Davis has led Clemson to five ACC Tournament Championship games in his career.

HEAD COACH JIM DAVIS REACHES 300 CAREER WINS WITH VICTORY OVER SOUTH CAROLINA Head Coach Jim Davis has a 297-136 record at Clemson as he is in his 14th season. During his NCAA Division I career, he has a 316-144 record. Davis spent one season, 1986-87, at Middle Tennessee State and compiled a 19-8 record with the Lady Raiders that season. Davis won his 300th career win with a 56-43 win over South Carolina on November 29, 2000.

DAVIS IS THE FIFTH WINNINGEST COACH IN ACC HISTORY Head Coach Jim Davis is the fifth all-time winningest coach in the history of the ACC with 297 victories. He is also fourth for most victories in ACC games with 131. He is the fourth all-time winningest coach in the ACC by percentage (.686), and he has the third best winning percentage in the ACC Tournament with a .621 figure (18-11).

JIM DAVIS’ NON-CONFERENCE RECORD Head Coach Jim Davis has a cumulative 153-44 record vs. non-conference teams during his Clemson career.

CLEMSON VS. RANKED TEAMS Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis has defeated 48 top 25 teams since his arrival at Clemson in the 1987-88 season. This season the Lady Tigers defeated third-ranked Duke on December 9, and ninth-ranked Auburn on December 21. The Lady Tigers also defeated 16th-ranked N.C. State on January 5, at Raleigh, NC. On January 15, Clemson defeated 25th-ranked Virginia.

FLOYD NAMED ACC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK Clemson’s Chrissy Floyd was named ACC Player-of-the-Week as announced by the league’s office on January 22.

Floyd, a sophomore guard for the Tigers, earns ACC Player of the Week recognition after leading Clemson to three league victories over Virginia, Georgia Tech and Florida State. For the week, the Laurens, S.C., native, averaged 18.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while connecting on 23 of 50 (.460) shots from the floor.

Against the Cavaliers, Floyd scored 20 points and tallied 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. She was also 9 of 18 from the floor and 1 of 3 from behind the arc while recording three assists in 36 minutes of play.

BATTH NAMED ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Erin Batth was named ACC Player of the Week on December 11, for her performance in the Duke game on December 9. In the Duke game, She scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds. She also had two blocked shots in the game.

BATTH IS ONE OF CLEMSON’S BEST ALL-TIME REBOUNDERS Erin Batth is one of Clemson’s all-time best rebounders. Currently she has 689 career rebounds and is eighth on the school’s all-time rebounder list.

NURIA FORNS IS ONE OF CLEMSON’S BEST THREE-POINT SHOOTERS Senior Nuria Forns is one of Clemson’s best ever three-point shooters. She is fourth on the Clemson career list for most three-point field goals made with 88.

CLEMSON’S DEFENSE Under Coach Jim Davis, the Clemson Lady Tigers have held opponents to 50 points or less 62 times and have never allowed an opponent to reach the 100-point plateau in regulation. North Carolina reached the 100-point mark in a double-overtime game on February 8, 2001. All 62 games have resulted in Lady Tiger victories. The Lady Tigers have been held to 50 points or less only four times during Davis’ tenure.

CHRISSY FLOYD HAS SCORED IN DOUBLE FIGURES IN 26 GAMES Erin Batth has scored in double digits in 21 of the 27 games played this season.

CLEMSON A DANGEROUS TEAM FROM THE THREE-POINT LINE Clemson has hit 131-359 from the three point line this season for a .365 figure. The Lady Tigers are averaging 4.85 three-point field goals per game. Chrissy Floyd has been successful from the three point line as she has hit 38-102 three point field goals for a .373 pct.

CLEMSON IS A GOOD FREE THROW SHOOTING TEAM Clemson has hit 442-619 free throws this season for a .714 pct. Chrissy Floyd is 76-93 from the free throw line for a .817 pct. Nuria Forns is 30-39 from the free throw line for a .769 figure this season. Clemson has seven players shooting 70% or better from the free throw line this season. The Lady Tigers lead the ACC in free throw shooting with a .714 mark.

MARCI GLENNEY IS LADY TIGERS’ THIRD LEADING SCORER Marci Glenney is the Lady Tigers’ third leading scorer this season with a 9.8 ppg. average. The transfer from Connecticut has 65 assists and 32 steals this season . She is also averaging 3.8 rpg. She has started 19 games this season. She had a career-high 21 points in the Virginia game on January 15.

CHRISSY FLOYD SHOOTING .454 FROM THE FLOOR Chrissy Floyd has hit 176-388 from the field this season for a .454 pct. She has extended her range this season as she is 38-102 from the three-point line this year for a .373 figure.

JULIE ADERHOLD IS CLEMSON’S TOP FRESHMAN SCORER Of Clemson’s four freshmen, Julie Aderhold is the leading scorer in the group with a 5.9 ppg. average, sixth on the team. This year, Aderhold has played in all 27 games and is averaging 18.2 minutes per game. She is also averaging 2.8 rpg. She started her first career game in the Wake Forest game on January 11.

KRYSTAL SCOTT LEADS THE TEAM IN ASSISTS Chrissy Floyd is second on the team in assists with 72.

BATTH IS ONE OF CLEMSON’S ALL-TIME CAREER SCORERS Erin Batth has scored 937 career points. She is tied for 20th on the Clemson’s career list for most points scored. She has scored 329 points this season. Floyd is Clemson’s 26th all-time leading career scorer with 846 points.
