Lady Tiger Soccer Team Ranked 19th by National Soccer Coaches Association of America

Clemson, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team is ranked 19th according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll released on Tuesday, October 9. The Lady Tigers fell four spots in this week’s poll after dropping a 3-0 decision to defending national champion and #12 North Carolina in Chapel Hill last weekend. Clemson is listed as the fourth-ranked team in the Southeast Region according to the NSCAA poll.

There are six teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the top-25 of the NSCAA poll. Virginia is the highest-ranked ACC team at third, while Boston College, who the Lady Tigers played to a 0-0 tie on September 30, is ranked seventh. UCLA is ranked first nationally and Stanford is second according to the coaches’ poll.

Clemson is also listed as the 19th-ranked team in the Soccer Buzz poll released on Monday, October 8, which is the same ranking that it received in last week’s poll. The Lady Tigers are also still listed as the third-ranked team in the Southeast Region according to Soccer Buzz’s regional rankings.

The Lady Tigers fell to 21st in the Soccer America poll released on Monday, October 8, dropping from a ranking of 14th in the previous poll released by the association.

Clemson will travel to the state of Virginia this week for two ACC road contests. The Lady Tigers will face Virginia Tech on Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in Blacksburg, VA. The team will then travel to Charlottesville to face third-ranked Virginia at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14 at Klockner Stadium on the Cavaliers’ campus.
