Lady Tiger Basketball Team To Play Host To Seminoles On Thursday

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will play host to Florida State on Thursday, Jan. 8 in Littlejohn Coliseum. Tip off is slated for 7:00 PM.

Thursday’s game marks the 27th time the two teams have met on the basketball court. Clemson holds a 23-3 advantage overall, and an 11-1 advantage in games played at Clemson. Clemson Head Coach Jim Davis is 22-3 against the Seminoles. The Seminoles won both games against the Lady Tigers last season.

The Lady Tigers enter the game with an 11-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play. Clemson defeated Virginia to open its conference play on Jan. 2 in Charlottesville, VA and then lost to North Carolina on Jan. 4 in Chapel Hill, NC.

The Lady Tigers are led in scoring and rebounding by All-ACC candidate Lakeia Stokes, who is averaging 18.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. The Covington, GA native also leads the team in assists (49), blocked shots (17) and steals (32). Maggie Slosser, senior frontcourt player is second on the team in scoring (10.7) and rebounding (7.2).

Florida State enters the game with an overall mark of 7-6 and a conference record of 0-2, with ACC losses to Georgia Tech and Duke. Head coach Sue Semrau’s team is led in scoring by Tasheika Allen, who averages 14.8 points per game. Genesis Choice leads the team in rebounding with 6.4 rpg.
