Keep Clemson Clean

July 18, 2000

Clemson, S.C. – What started as an idea from a few tailgaters, has turned into a campaign for Clemson fans on football gamedays.

During the 1999 football season, some members of the Clemson/IPTAY Chapter of the American Family Motorcoach Association decided to help clean the tailgate area known as Jervey Meadows after Clemson home games. The group was able to do that and now their efforts have turned into a campaign known as Keep Clemson Clean.

The efforts of Keep Clemson Clean will extend to all the tailgate areas around Memorial Stadium. George Bennett, the Executive Director of IPTAY, said the campaign has already been promoted in the Orange & White.

“Trash bins are going to be placed in strategic locations around the tailgate areas,” said Bennett. “We are asking Tiger fans to throw their trash in the bins or throw it in the back of their trunk to take it home. We just want our fans to do their part to keep the Clemson campus beautiful.”
