Georgia defeats Clemson 1-0 in a women’s exhibition match.

ATHENS, GA–The 18th ranked Georgia Bulldogs defeated Clemson 1-0 in a women’s exhibition soccer match at Athens, GA Saturday.

Carrie Patterson scored for the Bulldogs in the 10th minute of play. She was assisted on the play by Lindsay Stein and Olivia West.

“This was a typical preseason match,” said Clemson Head Coach Todd Bramble. “Both teams were tired and both coaches are still learning about their players. We had our share or goal-scoring chances but could not put them away. We still have a long way to go.”

Clemson opens the 2006 season on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. with a match against Alabama-Birmingham at Historic Riggs Field.
