Five Tigers Advance at NCAA Track & Field Championships

Buffalo, NY–Clemson’s Shawn Crawford advanced to the 100 meter semifinals at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Thursday evening. Jeremichael Williams and Greg Hines also advanced to the 110 meter high hurdles semifinals.

In the men’s 100 meter dash, Crawford advanced to the event’s semifinals as he ran a time of 10.44. The semifinals will be at 6:55 p.m. Friday.

In the 110 meter high hurdles, Clemson had two athletes to advance to the semifinals. Williams won the second heat with a time of 13.94. Teammate Greg Hines finished second in the same heat with a 14.04 performance. The semifinals will be at 7:35 p.m. Friday evening.

In the 4×400 meter relay, Clemson’s Charles Allen, Kenny Franklin, Aaron Haynes, and Davidson Gill failed to advance to the event’s final. The relay team ran a time of 3:07.47.

On the women’s side, two Clemson track athletes, Simone Tomlinson and Nikkie Bouyer both advanced to their respective event’s semifinals.

Tomlinson advanced to the women’s 100 meter dash semifinals as she ran a time of 11.56. The semifinals will be Friday at 6:45 p.m.

Bouyer qualified for the women’s 100 meter hurdles semifinals as she turned in a time of 13.69. The semifinals will be at 7:25 p.m. Friday evening.

Clemson’s 4×400 meter relay team of Lashonda Cutchin, Samantha Watt, Nikkie Bouyer, and Shekera Weston failed to qualify for the finals as the team finished ninth in qualifying with a time of 3:34.12. Only eight teams advanced to the finals.
