Devin Booker Wins MVP, Championship in France

Trevor Booker wasn’t the only member of his family to make some noise this postseason. Sure, the 2010 Tiger senior was a key part of the Washington Wizards’ first series playoff win in nine seasons. But it was little brother Devin’s time to shine this past weekend.

And shine he did.

The 2013 senior and third-team All-ACC power forward scored a game-high 21 points and added six rebounds to lead Bourg to the Pro B Championship in France. Booker, a career 65.8 percent free throw shooter, knocked down 13 of 14 attempts from the line in the series clincher against Poitiers. A full game analysis is available here.

Booker posted celebration photos to his Instagram account, including one with the MVP trophy:

Playing overseas can be a rough transition for many. Devin started the year by signing with Sluc Nancy, one of the top French teams in the Pro A league. After playing only five minutes per game with Nancy, he found success with Bourg. The Whitmire, S.C., native averaged 12 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a professional rookie.

And, his success was not lost on his big brother Trevor, either:

Congrats to my brother @DevinBooker31 and his team for winning the playoffs today over in France
