Cross Country Travels to Compete at Pre-Nationals

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Terre Haute, IN to compete at the Pre-Nationals on Saturday. The meet will serve as a precursor to the NCAA Cross Country Championships, held at the same course on Nov. 23. The men’s 8K and women’s 6K will take place at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course on Indiana State’s campus. Clemson will compete in the white section races, both starting after noon. The men’s race will start at 12:15 PM ET. Clemson will travel 11 members of its team to the meet, including leading standouts Roland Hakes and Aaron Ramirez. Hakes, a sophomore, led the Tigers individually in the first two meets this season. Ramirez, an all-region selection last fall, was the team’s best runner at the most recent meet at Notre Dame.Ten members of the women’s cross country team will be in action Saturday. Mark Elliott‘s team will be without the services of top performer Cara Talty, however. To make up for the senior’s absence, Clemson will look to sophomore Brianna Blanton and a host of freshmen that have been integral contributors so far this season – Grace Barnett, Catherine Herring, Evie Tate and Alexa Womack. A native of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barnett led the Tigers in the first two meets before a DNF in her most recent meet, the Notre Dame Invitational.Live splits and results will be available at BranchSportsTech.com.
