Cross Country Teams Wrap Up Season at Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Clemson men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up their 2000 seasons last Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regional. The men’s team finished 14th of 28 teams while the women’s team was 15th of 26 teams.

Perry Fields led the women’s team with a time of 23:12 over the 6k course to finish 49th overall. Jennifer Meador finished 54th with a time of 23:13 while Erika van Reenen was 88th in 24:06. Renee Keydoszius was 100th with a time of 24:21 and Heather Nichols completed the course in 24:58 for 126th. Kristi Toothman finished 151st with a time of 25:46.

The men’s team was without their top runner, David Adams, who could not compete due to injury. Travis Alexander led Clemson with a 38th place overall finish in a time of 32:12. Joe Harris finished 58th in 32:38 for the Tigers while Mike Barton finished 89th with a time of 33:37. Ryan Fenton trailed Barton by four seconds to finish 91st (33:41) and Brantlee Milner was 104th with a time of 34:04.
